Rocky [1981 – FLAC]: How to Download and Enjoy the Classic Movie Score

The album was recorded June through August 1981 at Rockfield Studios, but during recording drummer Griffin contracted German measles, curtailing his contributions and resulting in him having to overdub some of his drum parts. Of Brock's tracks, Bainbridge explained the recording process as "Dave turned up with his eight track, dumped what he had onto the multi-track and the rest of us somehow had to play around what he'd done".[4] Science fiction author Michael Moorcock, a long-standing associate of the group, contributes lyrics and vocals to the album, his theme being social control through the use of language.

The River: I have a good one for Cincinatti from 10-04-1980 (mjk5110 - 2nd Gen tape); one for Lexington from 03-04-1981 that isn't as good; Two more for Cincinatti (the last two original River tour shows), 09-13-1981 has a very good JEMS recording, and 09-14-1981 has another decent JEMS recording.

Here's the first of these for 07/03/1981. I'm uploading a tape source rather than the Piggham Records one because it sounds better to me. If someone wants the other as well, let me know. Both are flac.

That would be great if we can get it to work. I wish I knew more about web design. One thing I just figured out is that you can search this site within a certain thread. I searched this thread for 1981 and got a list of posts with that included. Maybe we should standardize the posts somehow so they are easily searchable. That would help a bit. Maybe a standard header with the Year - Month - Date, flac or mp3, Boot name, Boot producer (like Crystal Cat, EV2, JEMS, etc.) Then at least you could find something fairly easily. The first post could be edited to instruct how to do that and be made sticky. Badland_89 you started this, any ideas? It's just getting so successful, it's probably cumbersome for a new user to find what they would like to download and that was the original purpose of this thread, I think.

All of Roxy Music's albums were Top 10 U.K. hits, with 1980's Flesh and Blood clocking in as Roxy Music's second chart-topper. They'd also had 13 Top 40 singles in the U.K., soaring to No. 1 with an emotional cover of John Lennon's "Jealous Guy" in 1981. But their No. 2 U.K. smash "Love Is the Drug" got to only No. 30 in the States, and that's still Roxy Music's best-ever showing on the Billboard Hot 100. They'd never had a Top 20 LP in the U.S.

To this day, Walsh has only released one live album, the one from 1975 mentioned above. I think 1981 is a good year for another one. He was riding high from playing with the Eagles for a few years, and had another hit single ("A Life of Illusion") and hit album ("There Goes the Neighborhood"). Unfortunately, his critical and commercial success went downhill after that, compared to what he did before.

The one disappointment I had in seeing this set list was the lack of songs he did with the Eagles. (Though "In the City" is a partial exception. He first did it solo for a movie soundtrack, and then did a different version for the Eagles' "The Long Run" album.) In particular, I fully expected to find "Life in the Fast Lane" here, but it turns out he didn't play that song live in 1981 at all. So I found a version from a 1983 concert with similarly excellent sound, and I've added it as a quasi-bonus track at the end. 2ff7e9595c
